The Music Has Begun! Frontier Days!

September 22, 2010: Frontier Days officially opened today! I met Miss Frontier Days, Gabrielle Ash from Doddridge County. She is appearing at Frontier Days and will be in the Parade Saturday. Frontier Days opened tonight with a Gospel Sing with performances by several area churches and groups. Then Red Hat followed by The Museum performed as warm-up bands for DecembeRadio, a Grammy nominated Gospel Group. One of the band membes of DecembeRadio, Eric Miker, is from Shinnston! There is a large crowd enjoying the food and fun (our guests from Pennsylvania said the food the First Baptist Church was serving was excellent. I will have to try some of the others in the next few days.). More will be happening Thursday thru Saturday. After the Parade, there will be a Special Olympics Bocce Tournament at the Park starting at 2 P.M. Gillum House Bed & Breakfast is sponsoring a team for the Tournament. Come join the fun!!
