July 1, 2026: Shinnston Independence Celebration at Ferguson Memorial Park. Swimming Pool opens at Noon. Festivities begin at 4:00 P.M. Shinnston Community Band performs at approximately 8:30. HUGE Fireworks follows Concert.

Bl Margaret d Castillo Chapel of Perpetual Adoration on Mahlon St. is currently open to ALL for prayer or meditation 6 AM to Midnight, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Lowe Public Library has opened a Genealogy Room! The Genealogy Room at the Lowe Public Library will be open every Wednesday from Noon until 5 p.m.
Levi Shinn Log House
Shinn descendants and History Buffs are now able to visit the 1778 Shinn Log House. Contact the Gillum House 304-592-0177 for appointment, please.
Park Pavilion Rentals

Bice-Ferguson Memorial Museum
Open Thursday thru Saturday 9 AM. to 1 PM. beginning in April 2026.

The telephone was invented in 1876. The Bice-Ferguson Museum features an "anchor" exhibit of telephone equipment dating from the 1880s. It features the history of the City of Shinnston. There is also a new exhibit every month during the Museum season.
Shinnston Community Band
Shinnston Community Band rehearsals for the annual Independence Concert (July 2026) will begin in the Spring. Watch Facebook for info on rehearsals!!. Plan to spend your Tuesday evenings with the Band at Lincoln High School Band Room at 7 PM. Call Bandland 1-304-622-1171 for information about joining the band or about our concerts. All instruments are welcome - so dust off your musical instrument and come join us.
MCPARC COMMUNITY BAND
Spring 2026 come spend you Monday evenings making music again with the MCPARC Community Band in East Fairmont High School Band Room from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Dust off your instruments and come play.
