Gillum House Rooms & Rates

The Gillum Room (on the second floor- 15 steps) has a King bed. The down-filled duvet for cold months and the handmade quilt for summer make this an inviting, comfortable room. A replica of the Shinnston, West Virginia depot and the engine above the mantle pay tribute to Mr. Gillum's tenure as B & O Station Agent. The 43-inch flat screen TV with DVD and the CD player add to the amenities. Choose a movie from the DVD library on the bookcase in the hall for your entertainment. Each room has climate control with a window A/C unit for Summer and electric baseboard heaters for cooler weather. All guestrooms are on the second floor.

The Private "en suite" Bath features a claw-foot bathtub and a 48 inch shower. Luxury robes are in the closet, ready for you to use.

The Gillum Room rate is $179.75 plus 6% WV sales tax and 1% City of Shinnston sales tax per night. Please be aware that when booking through our Reservation Key system, you are making a "real time" reservation although we will call for credit card number before confirming the reservation..

There is a QUEEN-size bed and a 32 inch flat screen and cable in Rosi's Room.  You can still curl up with a good book or revel in the old-fashioned art of conversation but  also have the option of watching your favorite program, a movie, or the Big Game. Enjoy the charm and comfort of this second floor room (15 steps) with its Windsor-style queen-size bed. 

Rosi's has a down-filled comforter in winter and a light handmade quilt for summer. Guests in Rosi's Room have control of the climate in the room with a window A/C unit for Summer and the thermostat controlling the electric baseboard heater in cooler/cold weather. 

The bathroom, renovated in 2006, is shared with the Harris Room and features a 60 inch shower. This bathroom has a deadbolt lock for when in use - only the innkeeper has the key. Luxury robes are in the closet, ready to be used.

The Harris Room of this Shinnston inn is the one that is called "my room" by several of our repeat guests. It reflects the "down-home" warmth of the Harris family who purchased the house from the Gillum family. Savor the comfort of the queen-size bed with its handmade quilts on the pillowtop mattress and the reading nook complete with floor lamp with "reading lamp", big oak rocker, and books (take your selections home with you).

There is a window unit A/C for Summer and electric baseboard heating with Harris Room controlled thermostat for cooler weather. A 32-inch flat screen TV and DVD with Dolby sound complete the amenities in the Harris Room. Enjoy a movie from our collection on the bookcase in the hall. All guestrooms are on the second floor. Rosi’s Room or The Harris Room rate is $150.00 plus 6% WV sales tax and 1% City of Shinnston sales tax per night. Either room may be rented as a Private Bathroom. Choose Items For Sale and enter Private bathroom, the extra charge is $20 + taxes, the other queen room will be made Out of Service and will NOT be rented. . Please be aware that when booking through our Reservation Key system, you are making a "real time" reservation although we will call for credit card number before sending the confirmation letter.
